2019 “M.CHERIF BASSIOUNI” SIRACUSA PRIZE

 

The International Association of Penal Law together with the Siracusa International Institute of Criminal Justice and Human Rights, are launching the call for nominations to the “2019 M.Cherif Bassiouni Siracusa Prize”, that will be awarded on the occasion of the XXth International Congress of Penal Law, to be held in November 13-16, 2019, at Rome (Italy).

The Siracusa Prize was established in 2009 in order to grant the work (an individual monography, published as a book with ISBN) of a Young Penalist, member of the AIDP-IAPL, which constitutes an original contribution of great scientific value in penal law and which has been published the first time within the last 5 years.

All AIDP-IAPL members are invited to send proposals by email before 30 November 2018, to the President of the Jury: Stephen C. Thaman (thamansc@slu.edu). The proposal should:

- clearly identify the author, who must be a Young Penalist of the AIDP-IAPL, as well as the nature, main features of the work, and other relevant information concerning the publication;

- contain a copy of the table of contents/the summary, the introduction and the conclusions, and a short comment (max. 1 page) in English, French or Spanish, on the contents and main scientific contribution of the proposed work;

- indicate, if it was submitted to an academic evaluation, the nature of the evaluation and the mark obtained.

Authors who already have a worldwide reputation such as members of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of the AIDP as well as members of the Board of the Siracusa International Institute are not allowed to candidate

Before 1 January 2019, the jury shall establish the list of works to be considered. The authors will be invited to send before March 1, 2019, an electronic copy and five paper copies of their work to the President of the Jury.

The Jury shall deliver its decision by simple majority voting. The decision of the jury shall be final and no appeal is permissible against it. Should the jury conclude that none of the works merits the award, the Siracusa price will not be granted. The jury may award one or more work with exceptional distinction if they are of special scientific value.

 

PRIX SYRACUSE « M.CHERIF BASSIOUNI » 2019

 

L’Association Internationale de Droit Pénal et l’Institut International Syracuse pour la Justice Pénale et les Droits de l’Homme lancent l’appel à candidatures pour le «Prix Syracuse, M.Cherif Bassiouni 2019», lequel sera décerné à l’occasion du XXe Congrès International de Droit Pénal, qui se déroulera du 13 au 16 de Novembre de 2019, à Rome (Italie).

Le Prix Syracuse a été créé en 2009 en vue de récompenser l’ouvrage (une monographie individuelle, publiée en format de livre avec ISBN) d’un jeune pénaliste, membre de l’AIDP, apportant une contribution originale en droit pénal de haute valeur scientifique et publié en première édition dans les cinq années précédentes.

Les propositions qui doivent être présentées par un membre de l’AIDP, devront être envoyées par email, avant le 30 novembre 2018, au Président du Jury, Professeur Stephen C. Thaman (thamansc@slu.edu), en :

- identifiant clairement l’auteur, qui doit être un jeune pénaliste de l’Association, ainsi que la nature, les caractéristiques de l’ouvrage, et les informations concernant la publication :

- joignant copie de la table de matières / sommaire, de l’introduction et des conclusions, ainsi qu’un résumé en français, anglais ou espagnol du contenu et apports scientifiques principaux (maximum 1 page) ;

-indiquant, en cas d’avoir fait l’objet d’une évaluation académique, la nature de l’évaluation et la qualification obtenue.

Ne peuvent être candidats les auteurs qui ont déjà une notoriété mondiale et notamment ceux qui sont membres du Conseil de Direction ou du Comité Scientifique de l’Association Internationale de Droit Pénal, ou du Conseil d’Administration de l’Institut International de Syracuse.

Avant le 1 janvier 2019, le juré établira la liste des ouvrages qui seront pris en considération, dont les auteurs devront envoyer, avant le 1er mars 2019, un exemplaire scanné et cinq exemplaires en papier au Président du Jury :

Le Jury décerne le prix à la majorité simple des voix. Sa décision est définitive et sans appel. Si le Jury estime qu’aucun ouvrage ne mérite d’être retenu, le prix n’est pas décerné. Le Jury peut désigner en outre, à titre exceptionnel un ou plusieurs ouvrages qui justifient d’être particulièrement recommandés sur le plan scientifique.

 

 

PREMIO SIRACUSA “M.CHERIF BASSIOUNI” 2019

La Asociación Internacional de Derecho Penal y el Instituto Internacional Siracusa para la Justicia Penal y los Derechos humanos convocan el « Premio Siracusa M.Cherif Bassiouni 2019 », que se concederá con ocasión del XX Congreso Internacional de Derecho Penal, que tendrá lugar los días 13 a 16 de noviembre de 2019, en Roma (Italia).

El Premio Siracusa fue creado en 2009 para reconocer la obra (monografía individual publicada como libro con ISBN) de un joven penalista, miembro de la Asociación, que suponga una contribución original de derecho penal de alto valor científico y que haya sido publicada por vez primera durante los cinco años precedentes.

Las propuestas, procedentes de cualquier miembro de la Asociación Internacional de Derecho Penal, deben remitirse por email antes del 30 de noviembre de 2018 al Presidente del Jurado, Profesor Stephen C. Thaman (thamansc@slu.edu),

- identificando claramente al autor, que debe ser un Joven Penalista de la Asociación, así como la naturaleza, características de la obra, y los datos relativos a su publicación;

- acompañando copia del índice o sumario, de la introducción y de las conclusiones, así como un resumen en español, francés o bien en inglés de su contenido y aportaciones científicas primordiales (máximo: 1 página);

- indicando, en caso de haber sido objeto de valoración académica, su naturaleza y la calificación obtenida.

No podrán ser candidatos los autores que hayan alcanzado notoriedad mundial y, en particular, los miembros del consejo de dirección o del Comité científico de la Asociación Internacional de Derecho Penal o del Consejo de Administración del Instituto Internacional Siracusa.

Con anterioridad al 1º de enero de 2019 el Jurado establecerá la lista de obras seleccionadas, cuyos autores deberán remitir, con anterioridad al 1º de marzo de 2019, una copia escaneada y cinco ejemplares de la obra al Presidente del Jurado.

El Jurado decidirá por mayoría simple de votos. Su decisión será definitiva e inapelable. Si el Jurado estima que ninguna de las obras consideradas lo merece, podrá declarar desierto el premio. El jurado puede señalar, además, a título excepcional, una o más obras que merecen ser particularmente recomendadas en el plano científico.
