Conference of the Portuguese Group of the AIDP on "Artificial intelligence and criminal law"

On the 20th of November 2020, the Portuguese Group of the AIDP held a Conference at the University of Coimbra, a joint organisation of the Institute for Legal Research of the University of Coimbra (www.uc.pt/en/fduc/ij) and the Portuguese Group of the AIDP (www.aidp-pt.org), with the scientific coordination of the President and the Secretary of the Group, Prof. Anabela Miranda Rodrigues and Dr. Miguel João Costa respectively.

The Conference fit within the ongoing thematic cycle of the AIDP, Artificial Intelligence and Criminal Law, with Prof. John Vervaele intervening remotely at the Opening Session, together with the President of the Portuguese Group and with Prof. Aroso Linhares, President of the Institute for Legal Research. The Conference addressed the emerging topic of AI from the many perspectives of criminal law, substantive and procedural, as well as from a broader angle of administration of justice, national and international, individual and collective. It was run from the premises of the University of Coimbra, and broadcasted via Zoom to over 160 spectators.
