Invitation to Consider Supporting an Open Letter on Judicial Independence
Dear Members of the International Association of Penal Law,
I hope this message finds you well.
I would like to share with you an open letter prepared by a group of academics, legal professionals, and members of the national, European, and international criminal justice communities. This initiative was developed in the context of the third colloquium held in Paris in honor of Professor Mireille Delmas-Marty, under the theme Raisonner la raison d’État: Où en est l’Europe?
The letter expresses concern regarding recent criticisms directed at the European Court of Human Rights and, more broadly, at the independence of the judiciary. It calls upon national, European, and international actors to reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding the independence of the Court.

Should you wish to support this initiative in your individual capacity, you may do so by sending your name to the following address: printempsdudroit@gmail.com.
With best wishes,
Katalin Ligeti
President of the AIDP
